Baby clothes galore!
So, we have friends and family who know people! They have been so generous with their old baby stuff. We now have 3 plastic boxes full of clothes for Z. That does not include the ones I just don't care for(two more boxes) or the ones he's currently wearing (one small box).
We are so blessed to have people take care of us the way they do. It also goes back to being thrifty, and eco-friendly. By taking other people's gently used clothes, we save money and keep stuff out of the landfill. Our need for clothes is met and they can have more space. Also, I feel great about passing it on when we're done because it keeps the recycling circle going.
Speaking of which, I just found out about a great organization that does exactly what I described, on a larger scale. Its called Peace Love Swap. The events are locally organized so that moms can get together and get what they need, socialize, and give to someone in need. There are rules of ettiquite, of course, but that's to be expected. It's an even better idea than the consignment or thrift store, because it brings people together and gives back, too. Happy swapping!
